Tips for selecting a photo for engraving onto wood
1. Choose a photo that has a good size and resolution. The bigger the engraving, the higher the quality required.
2 Choose photos without a busy background – backgrounds should provide texture and interest but not dominate the photo.
3 Photos with multiple subjects should be in landscape orientation. This allows a more natural and balanced scene to be reproduced when engraved.
4 Photos should have a good balance of light and dark objects. Too many dark objects (eg. black clothing, black walls, etc) make the photo difficult to engrave.
